Gaming Graphics Card – Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 Review

The Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 is the newest video card from Nvidia. It is an amazing gpu and is currently the world’s fastest DirectX 11 card. If you want a computer that will rip through games, you definitely need to install this video card on your computer’s system. While we were quite impressed with its predecessor, the GTX 480, the GTX 580 is a slight boost up in performance. If you have the GTX 480, we probably wouldn’t recommend the upgrade. It’s too much money for the amount of graphic increase. however, anything short of the 480 would be worth upgrading.

Interesting Features: The Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 allows you to play games in 3d with Nvidia 3d vision technology. With 3d wireless glasses and special software you can play 3d games and watch 3d movies in 3d. Another incredible feature, is the Nvidia GeForce GTX 580′s capability to render anti aliasing 32x. This really smoothes rough edges in games and gives it incredibly life like imagery.
Specs: The Nvidia GeForce GTX 580 contains powerful features including 512 CUDA cores, 1.5GB of DDR5 ultra fast memory, clock rate of 1544 MHz, and a display support for VGA, HDCP, HDMI, mini HDMI, and DVI.

Power Consumption: This graphics card does require quite a bit of power. Be sure that you have a computer capable of providing a minimum of 600 watts. We would recommend 900W to be safe.

Overall: All in all, this is the world’s fastest graphics card. It’s the best video card you can get right now on the market. It’s fairly expensive running around $525. We would recommend this card to the avid gamer or a professional who needs plenty of computing power with great graphics. Although we probably wouldn’t recommend buying this card if you have the GTX 480 or a card similar in power, as we don’t think the power increase is worth $500…. It is always nice though to boast that you have the world’s fastest graphics card! Other gamers will envy your ultimate gaming graphics card.

What 3D Gaming Graphics Card can run Witcher 2, DA2, TS3, and DS3 on pleasurable settings?

I just want to be able to run the games Witcher 2, DA2, and DS3 on pleasurable graphics settings with no lag. I know these are pretty darned high GPU requiring games, and I want to know, what card do I want? I can range from – . From a card, I want:
1. Ability to run game with NO lag whatsoever
2. Ability to have pleasurable graphics (a little above average) and look GOOD on my PC.
3. SLI Capability
4. Won’t overheat!

I’m astonished that my nVidia GeForce 7300 can run Iris Online and look VERY decent with VERY little lag.
I want much more from my games than this crappy nVidia GeForce 7300 which is WAY outdated in terms of PC. I want to feel like my PC can handle these games on okay settings.

Operating System
MS Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit SP1
CPU
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 @ 2.13GHz36 °C
Conroe 65nm Technology
RAM
4.0GB DDR2

Im looking for a cheap good graphics card for gaming?

Right now I have a Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT, and it keeps over heating real quick so its shot, I don’t have very much money, and my games keep crashing like mw2, high end games like that. What card is great for gaming at a price that is cheap. Thanks!

How do you know if a graphics card is good for gaming?

I am trying to find a good computer for gaming and i dont want to spend a lot. So alienware is obviously off the table. When i look to see the graphics cards, i dont understand which are better because i see nVidia GeForce 9400 or Intel Accelerated HD or Graphics Accelerated HD. I have tried like when searching to go under the gaming section for computers, and i look at their graphics cards. They all vary between nVidia, ATA, Accelerated graphics, and a few others.

Good gaming graphics card?

Hi all, i really need a new graphics card as my current one is an NVIDIA GeForce 7100/ NVIDIA nForce 630i and is REALLY bad. I would like to play games such as Team Fortress 2 and Modern Warfare 2 on high settings. Unfortunately i am clueless about this area and was hoping someone can suggest a decent card for around £60 to £70.
Thanks in advance
Josh
